How do I get in to the Forex?
Amazingly, while you still need a broker, or some other intermediary to begin trading on the stock market, the commodities markets, or the bonds market, you can get "into" the Forex market in just a few minutes and can begin trading just as quickly.
After you have visited several of the sites of various Forex platforms, research those that interest you more thoroughly and determine if you are willing to enter into a relationship with one of them. When you are satisfied that you have found your match, sign up as a client.
You may be asked some very personal financial questions to enroll as a client. Some sites only ask for your name and your money. The spread between the two extremes, though large, is amply covered by the various trading platforms. While this should not be your only criterion for choice of platform, certainly, the extent of your personal information that you might need to share with the [anonymous] trading platform may be a deal breaker.
You must understand, though, that once you are registered or enrolled as a client with a trading platform, or market maker (they are both the same thing), you are sitting "in" the Forex market, with full rights to trade. You may have to follow some specific platform rules, but basically, you have a seat at the table.
The Forex is wherever you are, just like the Internet. As long as you can connect, and some trading platforms allow trading by telephone, telegram or facsimile, you can trade. While some trading platforms close at various times, there is no time that the Foreign exchange market is closed. If you want a trading platform that is open 24/7/365 rest assured that there are those available.
If you do not want to trade on any day, or after a certain time, you may do so. It would seem advisable that if you are in a speculative mode, and you plan to be away from trading for some period of time, you might want to close out your trades, or put stop loss orders in.
